For the same reason you continually dismiss people's personal experiences as fictitious when they don't paint the picture of spiritual paradise you want to believe exists among the JWs. You just can't help yourself.

I knew of an elder(now deceased) who was certain that he saw one, regardless of the WT's view. I suspect that JWs are like everyone else when it comes to UFOs. No one really believes unless they see one for themselves.

I'm just reading about this now. This is horrible news. I loved oompa's posts. He was one of my faves. I was kinda shitty to him the last time I interacted with him on here. Wish I had a chance to tell him I'm sorry:(
